Jerry is 82 years old, and his wife, Teresa, is 80. The two have been living in their Grandville home for 54 years. In this home they have watched their children grow, and now their children’s children grow. Memories flourish of when the happy couple moved in after their marriage. They had been so proud of owning their own home. They are still proud of this home.
However, six months ago Teresa fell. Teresa was outside caring for her garden when a dizzy spell came on. She lost her balance and fell, breaking her hip. Since then, things have not been the same for Teresa and her husband. Teresa manages, but she struggles with walking and the ability to do her daily routine. Jerry depends on his wife, as he cannot walk himself and gets around via wheelchair. Jerry became concerned that this might be the end of them living in their long-time home.
That’s when their son found Meal on Wheels. For the past four months, Jerry and Teresa have been receiving several meals a week. This is extremely helpful for Teresa, who can easily cook the meals without being on her feet for too long. Jerry and Teresa are now coming up on 55 years of living in their home. They are looking forward to many more years of memories.
