Meals on Wheels Western Michigan is proud to announce our involvement with the national day of giving, Giving Tuesday!

What is Giving Tuesday you ask?

Giving Tuesday, often stylized as #GivingTuesday for purposes of hook activism, refers to the Tuesday after Thanksgiving in the United States. It is a movement to create an international day of giving at the beginning of the Christmas and holiday season. The movement began in 2012, created by 92nd Street Y. “This is not a moment, it’s a movement!” People, just like you and me, choose to make this their day to give back. It is actually the 2nd biggest day of the year for giving! With Black Friday and Cyber Monday… it only makes sense that there is a Giving Tuesday.

However, here at MOWWM, we give meals. We are taking our own creative spin on the day with the hashtag “GivingMealsDay”. Our goal is to serve up 1,000 meals for seniors on this day! However, for that to be possible, we need to raise $5,000. Will you help? It takes $5 to provide a senior with a meal, so every little bit helps! Share with your friends and family through social media your support by sharing the #GivingMealsDay logo (below).
