Other Ways to Give

There are so many ways to support the life-saving mission of Meals on Wheels Western Michigan in addition to making a monetary donation. See below for some inspiration! Feel free to contact Lydia Vanderhill, Development Specialist, with any questions. She can be reached at lvanderhill@mowwm.org or (616) 459-3111 x 139.

Subaru Share The Love Event

Meals on Wheels Western Michigan is proud to participate in Subaru of America, Inc.’s annual Subaru Share the Love Event. Over the past 13 years, Subaru and its retailers have helped Meals on Wheels to deliver more than 2.5 million meals nationwide to seniors in need through their Subaru Share the Love Event. When you purchase or lease a new Subaru this holiday season, select Meals on Wheels as the recipient of a $250 donation. Learn more at www.mealsonwheelsamerica.org/sharethelove.

Amazon Wish List

You can donate without ever leaving your home through our Amazon wish list. This list includes all of our most-needed items, and it’s routinely updated when more needs arise. You can purchase directly from the list, and your gift will ship directly to our Senior Pantry! Click the button to shop now.

Amazon Smile

Amazon Smile is the exact same product prices and shopping features as Amazon.com except Amazon Smile donates .5% of your purchase price eligible products to the charity of your choice. Of course, we hope you’ll choose MOWWM. In order to take advantage of this, you must shop from AmazonSmile.com not Amazon.com. Just head to: https://smile.amazon.com and help a senior every time you shop online!

Independent Food & Fund Drives

Food and/or Fund Drives can be done at any business, church, school or organization at ANY time of the year. Non-perishable food collected goes directly to our Senior Pantry for low-income seniors and funds help support all three of our programs here at MOWWM. Click here to learn more about hosting a drive or event.

HOST A VIRTUAL FUND DRIVE

Host a virtual fundraiser with your family, friends or coworkers through our GoFundMe Charity site! Raising community support through a fund drive can make a powerful difference in the lives of local seniors struggling to put food on their tables, and is a great virtual way to celebrate a birthday or special occasion, or honor a loved one. Contact Lydia with questions or to get help setting up a drive: lvanderhill@mowwm.org or (616) 459-3111 x 139.

Get your workplace involved

Joining your coworkers to help local seniors is a great way to build teamwork and boost morale. Whether it’s volunteering together, donating a portion of sales, hosting a competition between teams, or hosting a community drive with your clients, you can make a powerful impact in the lives of vulnerable seniors! Be sure to check with your employer to see if they will match your donations. Click here for more information on Corporate Engagement.

Microwaves Needed

We are in need of additional countertop microwaves for our seniors to have for heating their meals. We have requests for microwaves from our seniors since it is easier than using an oven. We accept used or new countertop microwaves to distribute to those that are in need.

We’re participating in the myWalgreens donation program! You can donate your myWalgreens cash rewards to Meals on Wheels Western Michigan thru March 31, 2023.
