A great way to help us in providing quality nutrition services to seniors is to attend our yearly events! Each spring we host our More Than A Meal luncheon, which is a time for the community to come together and enjoy a free meal while learning more about Meals on Wheels Western Michigan. In the fall, we host our Chef’s Specialty event where we honor a valued member of our community and feature a local celebrity chef. This year we are also hosting our inaugural March for Meals Community Walk on March 27th!

Meals on Wheels Western Michigan is hosting our inaugural March for Meals Community Walk this year on March 27th! #MarchforMeals is a national campaign of Meals on Wheels America, designed to generate public awareness about senior hunger and isolation and to celebrate the invaluable services provided by MOWWM. While we have always celebrated this campaign with volunteer and advocacy opportunities, we are excited to also be offering a Community Walk this year.
This evening event is a time for our closest supporters and new friends to come together to support our community seniors living healthy and independently in their own homes. Held in the fall, this event has over 250 attendees and offers a cocktail reception with mingling and cooking demonstrations, a tribute to a special honoree, meaningful words from a client, and a few surprises along the way! Guests purchase tickets to attend the event, or come as guests of sponsors.
Our table hosted event is an opportunity for the community to learn more about the impact Meals on Wheels Western Michigan continues to make in the lives of older adults. The event is held in the spring and has over 200 attendees. Our hosts consist of board members and other prominent supporters. The hosts invite those they know in the community who share our vision. There is no cost to attend, though a direct ask for support is made.
