A great way to help us in providing quality nutrition services to seniors is to attend our yearly events! Each spring we recruit community members to ride along on a meal delivery to experience a service first hand. Following this “March for Meals” celebration is our “Chef’s Specialty” event, welcoming longtime supporters and new friends to celebrate the outstanding services provided by Meals on Wheels. Lastly, our “More Than a Meal” luncheon offers a time for the community to come together and enjoy a free meal while learning more about MOWWM.

Meals on Wheels Western Michigan participates in the national #MarchforMeals campaign every March. March for Meals is an annual month-long event, sponsored by Meals on Wheels America. It is designed to generate public awareness about senior hunger and isolation and to celebrate the invaluable services provided by Meals on Wheels Western Michigan.
This evening event is a time for our closest supporters and new friends to come together to support our community seniors living healthy and independently in their own homes. Held in the spring, this event has over 250 attendees and offers a cocktail reception with mingling and cooking demonstrations, a tribute to a special honoree, meaningful words from a client, and a few surprises along the way! Guests purchase tickets to attend the event, or come as guests of sponsors.
Our “table hosted” event is an opportunity for the community to learn more about the impact Meals on Wheels Western Michigan continues to make in the lives of older adults. The event is held in the fall and has over 200 attendees. Our hosts consist of board members and other prominent supporters. The hosts invite those they know in the community who share our vision. There is no cost to attend, though a direct ask for support is made.
