HOST A DRIVE OR EVENT!
Hosting a food or fund drive is a great way to increase the supply of food and resources for the 1 in 6 seniors that struggle with hunger. By engaging your community, neighborhood, school, place of worship, or workplace, you can make a huge difference in the lives of the most vulnerable in our community.
Whether it’s asking for donations to celebrate a special occasion like a birthday or wedding, honoring the memory of a loved one, or celebrating a holiday season, we are so grateful for the support and are here to help along the way.
To get started, please register your drive below and someone will be in touch with you shortly!
I wanted to let you know how much the meals mean to me, without the meals I would go hungry half the time. I am 74 years old and I don’t have very much money. The meals I get help a lot. The delivery drivers are very nice people and will go out of their way to help you. I am in a wheelchair and getting around is hard, so I just want to thank you for saving me from going hungry.
Host a Food Drive
Hosting a Food Drive and collecting non-perishable food items is a great way to help us stock our Senior Food Pantry to assist our low-income senior clients. We are happy to provide you with a list of most needed items, as well as signage and boxes. Food drives can be done at any business, church, school or organization at ANY time of the year. Consider pairing your food drive with a monetary drive to make an even bigger impact!
Host a Virtual Drive
Host a virtual fundraiser with your family, friends or coworkers through our GoFundMe site! Raising community support through a fund drive can make a powerful difference in the lives of local seniors struggling to put food on their tables, and is a great virtual way to celebrate a birthday or special occasion, or honor a loved one. It only takes a few minutes to set up! Simply click the button below to get started.
Host an Event
Interested in hosting an event, or donating proceeds from an event to MOWWM? We’d love to hear more about it! Events such as races, luncheons, auctions, concerts, etc. are wonderful ways to raise awareness and funds! During this time of social distancing, you could host something as simple as a virtual happy hour with friends or coworkers where everyone donates the $10 they would normally spend on a cocktail! Please be sure to register your event (or reach out to Lydia at lvanderhill@mowwm.org or 616-459-3111 x 139) and a staff person will be in touch with you shortly.
Get your workplace involved!
Joining your coworkers to help local seniors is a great way to build teamwork and boost morale. Whether it’s donating a portion of sales, hosting a competition between teams, or hosting a community drive with your clients, you can make a powerful impact in the lives of vulnerable seniors! Your employer might even match donations!
Thank you for fundraising on behalf of local seniors!
