Meals on Wheels Western Michigan is excited to be working with the Michigan State Extension program to once again bring Senior Project Fresh to West Michigan. Eligible applicants over the age of 60 who reside in Kent county can sign up to receive a coupon book equal to $20 worth of vouchers. Participants, or a proxy, must attend a nutrition class to receive the coupon books. These vouchers can be used exclusively on fresh fruits and vegetables at their local farmers’ markets. This service offers fresh, Michigan-grown produce to eligible seniors throughout the summer season, in addition to supporting Michigan farmers. Kent County has a limited amount of coupon books to distribute and the classes will be filling up soon. Once the classes are full, we will start a waiting list. All coupons are valid through October 31st.

The 2020 program registration is complete for the season. All of the coupons available in Kent County have been disbursed. For more information on the 2021 season, please contact our Pantry Manager at 616-364-1104 the beginning of May, 2021.
