Fill the Cart

Throughout the month of March, the Heart of West Michigan United Way will be coordinating “Fill the Cart” collection drives all across Kent County to bring together much-needed items that will ease the burden for children, families, seniors, and veterans who are struggling to meet their basic needs. Many of these families are working hard each month to pay for housing and food but cannot always afford other basic needs items like toiletries, undergarments, and cleaning supplies.

One of the goals of these collection drives is to make it easy to for donors to participate – simply add a few extra items to your shopping cart or shop on the Amazon wish list.

This year’s collection themes are:
Bare Necessities (shampoo, toothpaste, deodorant, etc.)
Spring Cleaning (cleaning supplies)

Groups or individuals may drop-off donations at Heart of West Michigan United Way’s downtown Grand Rapids office (118 Commerce St SW) between now and March 21st.

You can also collect as a group! Register your group at www.hwmuw.org/fillthecart. By registering, you will be sent a toolkit with all the materials and info you need to start your collection.

Two Men & a Truck will be partnering with this drive by picking up collections from companies within 15 miles of HWMUW offices (118 Commerce Ave SW). Pick-ups will take place on the morning of March 22.
