Volunteer of the Month: Larry Couturier

For the past three years, Larry has been volunteering as a driver, delivering meals three days a week to homebound seniors in need. Larry delivers meals alongside his wife, Nancy, and enjoys being a part of the Meals on Wheels delivery team just for the great feeling of helping others. Larry says, “We all are truly blessed for the opportunity of knowing we make a difference in the lives of our seniors and those in need.” Larry and Nancy have been married for 35 years and are blessed with three sons and eight grandchildren!

Not only is Larry passionate about the clients he serves but he also enjoys working with the delivery team staff as well. He says, “I feel so happy to include all the staff of Meals as friends. I could not be more blessed to work for the delivery department staff who keep the wheels turning, making our jobs so much easier.” Both Julie and Vonda of our delivery department staff, say that Larry goes above and beyond when it comes to deliveries. “Larry frequently asks if any redeliveries need to be made and will always do more and take extra meals when needed,” Julie says. They also beamed that he is in tune to the needs of his clients and takes very good care of them. Over time, Larry has donated over 1,281 hours of volunteer service to our program and those we serve!

We are so thankful for Larry’s commitment to our program and so grateful to have him as a part of our delivery team. We appreciate him, and others like him who give so generously of their time to reach homebound seniors in our community.  Thank you!

You cannot get through a single day without having an impact on the world around you. What you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make.”
